What i study
-
Design, Manufacture & Evaluation of Cosmetic Products
Evaluated cosmetic product performance (e.g. emulsion stability, rheology, preservative efficacy). Explored consumer perception, formulation methods, and new product development (NPD) strategies.
-
Pharmaceutical Formulation
Prepared and evaluated various dosage forms such as creams, suspensions, tablets. Learned principles of excipient selection, powder technology, and dosage form design.
-
Cosmetic Formulation
Developed and packaged a range of cosmetic products (solutions, emulsions, semi-solids). Gained practical insight into ingredient functionality, small-scale production, and matching products to consumer needs.
-
Core Concepts in Pharmaceutical Sciences
Studied skin, hair, and body part physiology alongside cosmetic ingredient functions. Gained lab experience in fragrance formulation, surfactant behaviour, and rheology testing. Explored colour theory and future trends in cosmetics.
-
Core Concepts in Cosmetic Sciences
Covered organic/inorganic/physical chemistry, drug design, bioavailability, and receptor pharmacology. Applied chemical knowledge to understand drug-receptor interactions, reaction kinetics, and drug activity in the body.
-
Analytical Techniques
Acquired spectroscopy skills (IR, UV, NMR), chromatography (TLC, GC, HPLC), and thermal analysis (DSC, TGA). Learned to interpret data for quality control and characterisation of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products.
-
Manufacture of Pharmaceutical Products
Industrial-scale production including tablet and capsule manufacturing, sterilisation, filtration, and packaging. Applied principles of product quality, stability, and pharmaceutical unit operations.
